Quote by Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most.
We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?’
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in all of us.
And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
- Marianne Williamson

Heavy contrast of thought both for showing this photo with this post and while sitting within the walls of Canterbury Cathedral on a beautiful day five years ago.

I love this quote, even though I don't use the God word often myself, I do believe of that higher power within us.  I usually avoid any read with the over usage of God in its text, to be honest.  I don't understand when written as a person outside ourselves.
This quote is about fear of self.

It is a great quote and has sent the wheels spinning in my mind.God is a rather dynamic word in concept and in theory and belief.Everyone has a different interpretation of what it means. And I do believe in a higher power or some force that is not just in us but everything.I believe that it is possible there is a force at work pulling the strings in some way in this cosmic life serial whether he looks like Jerry Garcia or is just a ball of energy remains to be seen, lol.I don't think we are controlled by that said force we have free will, but things around us may be manipulated a bit or it is one hell of a nasty cosmic joke put upon us.I am a believer somewhat in the butterfly effect myself.I try not to talk about God or define what that is to me,because there is no answer really as it is a belief and it's a freedom of choice .Whether we are apart of God's equation or not remains to be seen. But there is something that is beyond us and beyond me I am no prophet but do like anylizing everything and look at all sides and I agree with you to.I remember in school one person tells a story and it gets around and by the time it is done it is completely different.Same thing with interpreting poems or a piece of art everyone see's it differently then it's actual meaning, what I got out of it was to let go of your fears, embrace who you are and be yourself.

Whatever anyone says, writes or professes to know about the meaning of life is after all just words.Nobody, absolutely nobody, from the humblest of the destitute and illiterate to the most celebrated and scholarly knows any more than you or I about where we come from or why we're here.Even in terms of evolutionary history and quantum physics the question WHY and HOW did something come from nothing remains elusive. Even the origins and destiny of our own consciousness are not understood. Are the ghosts out there? Who knows, certainly not me. Selecting profile NOW

The simply put conclusion I drew, "Fear of self" came from being on the side of what could be a conversation.. Marianne's quote sounds as if it is conversational. As in a reply or an observation. And in truth our interpretations are one and the same. With "fear of self" being the cause and "embracing who you are" the effect. Both within the quote. Which in my opinion makes it a great quote.

*Added Note: Nelson Mandala used this quote in his 1994 Inaugural speech.

Awesome replies and insight!

Thanks Ben, I'll be looking for it in the post! You are awesome for that!
